Redact before you share.
Text you're about to paste into an AI,
files you have to send somewhere —
found and covered inside your browser.
"Dear Alex Hong, the contract from Garim Research Inc. is attached."
"Dear [NAME_1], the contract from [COMPANY_1] is attached."
An English name or company is picked up next to a label or title ("Dear", "Attn:", "Mr.", "Customer:") or with a legal suffix ("Inc.", "Ltd.") — plain prose with neither is left alone, on purpose. Identifiers and formats — phone numbers, emails, ID numbers — are detected whatever the language. Dashed tokens (?) are candidates, not auto-confirmed.
Where it earns its keep
Before you paste something into an AI,
and before you submit a document — one pass is enough.
In the samples below, English names and companies are picked up from a label, a title or a legal suffix; identifiers and formats are detected whatever the language. Korean text is handled the same way.
Summarizing meeting notes with AI
Notes full of attendee names and client companies.
Mask the names and the summary quality holds.
Mr. Jordan Park · Garim Trading Ltd. pricing review
Mr. [NAME_1] · [COMPANY_1] pricing review

Getting a contract reviewed
Swap out an amount and a phone number — the AI still reads the structure and the clauses.

Polishing a reply to a customer
Draft the answer with the name and contact details masked,
then restore them before you hit send.

Sending documents somewhere
Scanned contracts, screenshots of bank statements or ID cards.

How it works
Four steps, all inside your browser
-
Paste your text
Drop in the document or prompt you want to clean up.
-
Review what was found
Check every candidate the detector flagged. Deselect what you want to keep, add what it missed.
-
Swap in pseudonym tokens
Confirmed values become readable tokens like [NAME_1], ready to copy.
-
Restore from the AI reply
Paste the answer back and the tokens turn into the originals again, using a mapping table Garimi keeps in this browser and does not transmit.
Files get covered too
Open an image (PNG, JPEG, WebP) or a PDF and it finds the sensitive parts.
Confirmed areas are burned into the pixels themselves,
so nobody can recover them from the downloaded file.
- Phone numbers, ID-number patterns and the like are found and proposed automatically.
- Drag to cover anything it missed.
- Re-encoding also strips location and device metadata (EXIF) from photos.
Use it before you submit paperwork to a client or agency,
or before you upload a screenshot anywhere.
Start from what you're trying to do
A guide for each situation — what to mask, how,
and why that approach is safe.
Redact a PDF
Before you export a contract or a certificate.
Unlike an annotation layer, it erases the original text itself.
Mask photos and screenshots
Before you upload a verification shot or a screenshot.
More certain than a blur or a mosaic.
Mask a Resident Registration Number
Before you submit paperwork. A Korean Resident Registration Number is the national ID number, comparable to a US SSN.
Detection checks the number's structure, not just its shape.
Mask before you paste into an AI
Before you paste into ChatGPT.
Swap in tokens, then restore them from the reply.
Everything stays in your browser
The original text and the mapping table you work with are processed only in this browser tab's memory,
and Garimi does not transmit or auto-save them.
That said, ordinary request data from visiting this site may be processed by Cloudflare for hosting and security.
What we're honest about
- Automatic detection is not 100% complete.
It can miss some information or flag the wrong thing. - Before you send anything to an AI, you must check the result yourself.
- Context-dependent information — names, companies, addresses — is only ever offered as a candidate, never auto-confirmed.
Frequently asked questions
- Is nothing really sent to a server?
- The text you paste, the mapping table and the AI reply are all handled in browser memory. Garimi does not send them to its own servers or to any external AI API.
- Does it find every piece of personal information?
- No. Names, companies and addresses depend on context, so the detector can miss them or flag the wrong thing.
You have to review the result yourself before you use it. - Can I recover my work after a refresh?
- No. Nothing is saved automatically, so refreshing the page or closing the tab loses the original text and the mapping table.
